My combination skin needs help. I have dry patches of skin all over my face..?

My skin is weird. I have combination skin because my forehead and nose gets oilier much faster than my cheeks. my cheeks doesn't exude much oil. i exfoliate with sugar at least once a day, i wash twice a day with cetaphil, and i do a 30%-40% glycolic acid peel every week or every two weeks. I've been doing the peels a long time so my skin reacts fine with the peel.

But my skin has been getting dry patches on my face. my skin will exude the same amount of oil as it normally does but now i have all these dry flakes of skin. i tried exfoliating, keeping a regular routine with peels, and moisturizing a lot, and i still have it. i read somewhere that you can wash your face once a day (at night) because there are essential oils on your face to keep it soft that came overnight. instead they suggest to wash with water and moistuize.

my skin does feel really tight and dry after i washed. what do you guys suggest for my skin?

Exfoliation gets rid of the old, dead skin cells and encourages cell renewal. However, your skin cells can only renew themselves gradually. It sounds like your exfoliation with the peels every week is out-pacing the ability of the cell renewal process.

Take a few weeks off and see if that makes a difference.

For your dry patches of skin, it might sound a bit weird but plain Vaseline works wonders. Just dab a little bit on the dry spots for a few nights and you'll be surprised at the difference.
Reply:*have a look at virgin vie web site .they do make up partys so you can get advise and try the products before you buy, i reccommend them,

Reply:try putting on petroleum jelly on your affected area and if your face is really dry try not to wash your face frequently in one day.. I had a feelin that cetaphil made the dry skin coz i have one here and it made my face dry like flaking skin
Reply:Stop the peels for a little while.Give your skin some rest of all those chemicals.
Reply:One very important thing, do not exfoliate with a scrub on the combination or oiliy skin any time, let alone everyday. It will stimulate the oil glands on the face and makes them produce more and more oil. And daily exfoliation is creating those dry spots.

Having said that, the best products for the combination skin use Artistry Clarifying System daily and use Skin Refinishing lotion twice a week to exfoliate. The best thing about the Skin Refinishing lotion is it uses Oat proteins, Sugar derivatives and Algae to bring out the best of the skin. See the website to read more about these products. Artistry stands by their products and has 100% money back guarantees.

Reply:Even i have a combinational skin.My skin feels dry sometimes. then i started using "Artistry daily skin care system" ,which is really the best. Many people have a combinational skin.We need to take perfect care of such a skin it is dry near cheeks and oily at t zone. What i suggest you is a perfect routine for combinational skin is to use a

1. Clarifying foaming cleansser

2. Moisture rich refreshing toner

3. Clarifying balancing moisturiser with spf 15

This is a perfect combination for a combinational skin.I use it on a daily basis and my skin feels like wow. Also we need to use a scrub to exfoliate.Generally a scrub is to be used twice a week but not daily. Use "Artistry polihing scrub" ,Contains Nutrilite-approved ingredients including ginseng, known for its clarifying properties, and chamomile, known for its soothing properties.

Feel free to e mail me at ruma_jabeen@yahoo.com ,Also visit the links below for more info. You can just register as a customer and order the product online .The whole system will last for about more than 5 months so cost per use is 6 cents.

Reply:You should go to a dermatologist and ask them to prescribe you a special lotion called Amlactin. My skin was in the same condition as yours is right now, and within about two weeks, I began to see the super results from using Amlactin lotion. Also, I used Cetaphil sensitive skin cleanser to wash, differin gel after that, and then an Avon moisturizer. Good Luck!
Reply:Mary Kay has a wonderful oil-free hydrating gel. I had the same problem as you and I swear by the stuff now. Give it a chance. You won't regret it.
