My skin is real tight and dry whenever i get out of the shower. but then when i wake up it is super oily like usual. and all throughout the day its oily.i have terrible acne every winter two. what am i doing wrong and should i even bother with moisturizer?
p.s. does anyone know how i can get my makeup to stay on too cause having oily skin doesnt help
What is the best way to take care of oily skin in the winter it changes so frequently........?
you are pretty normal, actually. what i suggest is using a really gentle face wash such as phisoderm. use a small amount of moisturizer that is oil free along with the rest of your acne treatment. you could use the phisoderm %26amp; lotion at night with your acne treatment, then in the morning skip the phisoderm %26amp; lotion and use your normal routine-- as long as your face doesn't seem to have the dryness in the daytime. definately look into a new moisturizer that is acne formulated. you might have to part with a few extra $$... but worth it.
as for your makeup-- apply a light foundation with a disposable applicator (sponge) so you get an even coat and don't rub your hands all over your face (bad for acne). then, apply your cover-up. then, use a poofy brush %26amp; some loose powder to set your make-up. you will only have to do minor touch ups at most through out the day. make sure you use oil free formulas that are for acne prone skin.
Reply:Go natural. Try washing your face with high quality vegetable or nut oils such as extra virgin olive oil or almond oil. The natural oil will help the dry/oily condition balance itself out, so that your skin is no longer oily or dry. To test this out, pour some extra virgin olive oil in your hand (size of a dime) rub it all over your hands then rinse with warm water. Pat your hands dry with a towel. Once they are completely dry, consider how nice (and greaseless) they feel. Then try with your face.
