Age 22, Dry flaky skin on cheeks and forehead after washing?

Hi,

I currently have this really annoying problem. I was wondering if anyone has the same symptoms or can shed light on the condition as my dermatologist always prescibes steroid creams which dont help:

Everytime I wash my face, or it gets wet, it become very VERY tight around my forehead and cheeks. If I dont cover my face in thick moisturising cream immediately, the tightness increases . My face looks fine, smooth and clean, but after 24 hours, I can litterally (by rubbing my fingers hard on my forhead) rub off flakes of skin....much like an eraser on paper.

Also when I get hot and start to sweat , my face feels prickly and stings a little, and once the sweat dries up...my face becomes dry again.

My doctor thinks it may be an allergy, so give me steroid cream...which doesnt help. Mositurising cream helps better, and it only happens when i sweat or wash my face.

Just a note: I was treated with large doses of oral steroid as a teen. I have no rash on my face either.

i live in a small town and the water is **** i always have dandref maybe it is the water where u live some chemical could b in it
Reply:you need to use a soap for sensitive skin and lots of moisturizer with spf too and i myself use a heavy moisturizing cream at night before i go to bed...also keep hydrated drink more water
Reply:Try a different soap. Many soaps over dry the skin. Also many have oils and fragrances that can irritate the skin. I've found that Ivory works the best to keep my skin clear and clean.
Reply:hey you apply lots of cream everyday after washing or if you use a face wash stop using it.
