I have a skin tag under my arm, and i am going to florida in 3-4 weeks and i wanted it gone, so i tied some string around it and let me tell you, it wasnt easy, anyway, so i dont think i tied it tight enough to cut the blood supply off, but i kept messing with it, pulling it and stuff, and now where i have been pulling it, the top layer of the skin tag has been pulle doff, revealing a red thing, anyways its kinda scary and im worried, because it hurts a little bit, when i touch it, and theres no way for me to get the string off without removing the skin tag, and i cant go to my mum because she would call me stupid and have a go at me, then she would take me to teh doctors and stuff. And i am jsut wondering, please has this happened to anybody before, and if it has then pleas tell me what you did because my holiday is coming up, and i need it gone before then?
What can i do!
Wil
Please i beg of you help me, i am 13, i think i have got my skin tag badly infected, im really worried?
Go get seen by a professional health care person. Dont mess around with infections they dont clear up alone and not something to be guessing about either.

How do you get rid of a dent in the skin? Will it go?
I have a perminant dent in my skin on my stomache thats visible mostly wen i sit down . Its from wearing my school skirt too tight as there ment to be worn on the waist but i wore mine on my hips. How can i remove it? Will it go away over time?
How do you get rid of a dent in the skin? Will it go?
It will go away. It took time to develop so give it time to go away. You aren't wearing the skirt anymore right? 'Cause it will keep pressing on the dent.
Also, rub it w/ some aloe, vitamin E or vitamin C cream/lotion.

What legal rights do i have after my skin was badly burnt by a photothereapy machine in a beauticians?
I wonder if anybody can tell me where i stand legally as a consumer.
I attended two sessions in two days and was badly burnt by the LED Phototherapy machine.
This was in a beauty salon. The owner destroyed my skin and then to make matters worse tried to sell me the most expensive moisteriser as a cure.
Two months on my face is totally destroyed. My face was completely white scales for one month, i have had to use steroid cream , but this has very bad side effects. now my face is totally burnt red and so tight and dry i can only feel my eyes. The face just feels dead. The salon put me on the machine twice in two days and were recomending i do 5 days. I now learn that for phototherapy machines, session every 4-6 weeks are recommended.
What should i do legally about this matter ?
This machine/business needs to be stopped before they wreck more people lives.

You have the right to clean bandages and to neve go back there again.
Reply:You have a couple courses of action. First, you could take the shop to civil court for the damages/suffering you endured. Next, you could contact the Better Business Bureau and report the business for faulty techniques/equipment and incompetent operators.
Reply:You messed up your skin once, then used the machine two more times?
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times, just send me a blank check next time, OK?
Reply:contact an attorney and sue. it sounds like the nerves in your face have been affected and that you may have scarring. you have a lot of options and also an obligation to hold this business accountable if they are in error.
also take plenty of pictures of the damage to your face and document your injuries, pain and symptoms.
i sat in on a court case of a woman who sprained her ankle in a car accident, she was awarded close to $200, 000.00. a lot of people sue for anything but its those (like yourself) who really deserve compensation that don't . don't make that mistake, you have been injured and scarred possibly for life, don't pay for their mistake.
Reply:You have two different actions here, one against the salon and one against the manufacturer of the machine. (If the operator wasn't trained properly or disregarded the instructions, the maker is off the hook.)
Get to a personal injury lawyer and let him take it from here, that's their specialty and he will rip them a new one.
To speed it up for him, bring him all your documentation including your medical records of your care up to date so he can review everything and get your case rolling. The salon should have liability insurance so you will get at a minimum your medical bills, future bills, and pain and suffering.
EDIT- Don't listen to this one answer on here, the fact they told you to come two days in a row and you did before the damage was evident will not mitigate their actions. You've got an excellent case to pursue.
Reply:definately contact an attorney and the better business bureau. but, did they make you sign something before the treatments? most places will make you sign a release, in case something goes wrong and they can't be held liable. but i would damn sure give it a try--that sounds way excessive. i hope you get better some!
Reply:This is a case of strict liability. The beautician whosoever he/she is, is supposed to be duly qualified licensed to practice and adept with the instruments which are employed for treatment. The beautician has to prove that she was not negligent in her professional work and cannot place responsibility on her tools. You having suffered on account of professional incompetence and negligence are entitled to file a suit for damages against the beautician. Do it soon before the evidence disappears.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and my stomach has gotten really big, but it always feels so tight...?
Not just the skin either. My uterus is about 3 inches above my belly button at this point and it feels tight a lot too. Baby is kicking downward at this point (doctor said he's breach for now) but is it normal for my whole entire stomach to feel huge and tight?
I'm 25 weeks pregnant and my stomach has gotten really big, but it always feels so tight...?
I would say yes...I am now almost 31 weeks and there are times where he is pushing so hard that it hurts!! They are getting more cramped in there now, so your belly will feel really tight some days, and not so tight the next! It probably also has something to do with the way he is laying in there....I know mine is diagonal...hoping he flips as well....and when he pushes I think he is going to break my stomach! I hope this helps! :)

Reply:Yes I think it sounds normal
Reply:it's yr first time to be pregnant maybe,
that's how you'll feel for the first time.
Reply:It's normal, just use vitamin E creams to help loosen the skin and prevent stretch marks.
Reply:the tightening in ur belly could be braxton hicks contractions...good luck!
Reply:very normal:) hope your pregnancy is doing great! mine's going to end soon:) start rubbing lots of lotion on it so it won't itch

I have a bump on my eyelid. A very small skin colored bump it is NOT a stye. i think i got it from makeup?
it is on my upper eyelid where the eyelash meets the lid. it is not tender or painful it is uncomfortable though when i close my eyes and squint them real tight. Normally i give advice and i will try putting a warm compress on it but i would just like to know if it will go away in a few days or no. I am fortunately blessed with good skin and i know how to take very good care of my skin and body but everybody needs help and reassurance so if you have any tips on getting rid of this very very small bump could you let me know. I know not to squeeze it but i just want it to go away very quickly. Thanks

I had something like that , It turned out to be an eye lid blister. What I was told to do is use eye drops. I get them at times, It was caused by dust in the air, that irritated the eye lid. Yes, give it a day or so and it will go away. You will be just fine.

she thought it was like a really bad pimple and she waited weeeeks

How to cope with dry skin?
My skin has been really dry as late - I think it's due to the winter weather. I doesn't look dry but it feels dry, flaky and tight. Sometimes, it even stings a little when I try and wash it. Other than drinking more water, what can I do?
Thank you!!

I find that any lotion with shea butter helps tons. Also, check out the in-shower moisturizers. They're supposed to work really well, since they lock in all the moisture.
Reply:Two words, Aqua Phor. I'm serious, this stuff is a God send.
Reply:Get some Eucerin creme. It works really good for dry skin. You can buy it at Wal Mart. You should take some oat meal baths too, you can buy Aveeno oat meal packets at wal mart also
Reply:try aveeno. the overnight healing cream works wonders. my mom used to scratch her arms so bad in her sleep they would bleed. ever since she started using aveeno, it's stopped.
Reply:Burts Bees hand paste. Works like a charm and has a nice smell.
Oh, yeah - and this is for real. If your hands are really chapped, go to an Agway or other store like it and buy Bag Balm. It's used on cows where the udders get chapped from milking. They also sell it in a lot of other type stores now as well as on the web. It really works.
Reply:Aveeno cream works for me.
Reply:I was told to drink lots of water, avocados and nuts.. It kinda worked..
Reply:um use a moisterizer (that says it wont clog pores ) and drink tons of water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats going on with my skin tag?
I tied a piece of string around my skin tag and it has been about a week. It has gotten all ball like and looks like blood is going to it but isnt leaving it. Is this suppose to happen before it falls off? I tied the string as tight as I could get it.
Whats going on with my skin tag?
Yep... Doctor it is! The string wasn't tight enough to choke off the blood supply.
Reply:go to the doctor!
Reply:make it tighter. Or use a smaller string!
Reply:Yup, you are choking off the blood supply and killing off the tag so it falls off. What you are seeing is totally normal (tie something around your finger real tight and you will see the same thing).
HTH
Reply:STOP!!!!!!! GO TO THE DOCTOR CAUSE YOUR MAKING IT OPEN FOR INFECTION AND A SEVERE ONE!!!!!! ONE THAT CAN KILL YOU
Reply:Sounds like it's about to fall off. You can also just use a pair of scissors and cut it off. I do that often with doctor's permission. Just beware that some do bleed a LOT when you cut them. But no worries.

Pro Active is great and they have a generic in the same kit at
Wal Mart called Acne Free, for about 16.00, Pro Active is about 50.00+. It has worked wonders for my daughter.====
Reply:Even though you're not on a tight budget, I recommend Neutrogena. You probably just need the Oil Free Acne Wash (%26amp; then I'll follow up with the Oil Free Acne Moisturizer). I'm not 100% sure on the names, but they're only a word or two off, so you'll be able to tell which ones when you go to buy them (they're the orange bottles).

P.S. youre welcome. i also have bangs so i know how you feel!!! i just got my bangs cut (again) and my face has been worse ever since!! i have to pull mine up too.

all u need is a simple cleanser like dove beauty bar and wash ur face twice a day with it and in the day time apply cetaphil moisterizer spf 15.also for ON-THe-Spot treatments with pimples, just dub some tea tree oil on the pimple.%26amp;drink glasses of water a day !!! and i know u want clear skin FAST,but SORRY because it is a process and u have to follow it if u want beutiful skin in the long run.
Reply:A great product you can purchase from pharmacies is Brevoxyl. Its active ingredient is Benzyl Peroxide which is a 'Keratolytic'. It’s made of small crystals which exfoliates the skin and controls the bacteria and oil surface of the skin. It should be applied twice a day after cleansing.
Keratolytics work by removing keratin (yes, that tanning protein substance) to thin soften and dry the skin. Keratin creates hard, horny layers of the skin.
Always read the label, and never use on sun burnt skin. Avoid eyes, mouth, pubic region etc.
Also don’t forget to moisturise. The skin is your first layer of defense and produces 'sebum' to protect itself. If you dry you skin out by cleansing, and dont moisturise properly, your glands will start producing alot of sebum to compensate for the oily layer you stripped, thus filling you pores once again with oil (keratin). Also use a good moisturiser.
Avoid touching your face. Its amazing how much bacteria you hands can have on them. Remember always read the labels on products for your safety and also the ingredients. Avoid soaps and cleansers that foam alot, this means theres alot of detergent, so its very harsh on your skin and again will strip the natural oils. Vitamin B is also good for your hair skin and nails.
Remember always read labels and spot check if you can.
I hoped this has helped. Good luck!

ok..so i cant retract it now cos its tight as i never done it b4.dont wanna c a doctor so wat should i do to get it out of the skin and if i pulled too hard could it bleed!!
I cant pull back myfore skin.now abit worryed so i need to try and solve the problem...look below?
it naturally glues itself if not separated...so just keep gently pulling it and hold the skin closed for a little while when urinating....over time it will loosen up and the head will become uncovered permanently...
Reply:you probably cant pull back the foreskin because you haven't been careful about cleaning. you should take a warm bath and soak.slowly try to pull back the foreskin cleaning with a soapy washcloth as you go. you should be pulling back the foreskin and cleaning everyday or you will be running into this problem again. i've worked with handicapped boys who haven't been circumcised and you have to be very careful to keep yourself clean.
Reply:You gotta go see a DR. You didn't clean it enough and now you have an infection. It's going to take a DR to give you the right stuff
to fix it OR your gonna lose it

What happens when battery fluid leaks onto your skin? Should I be worried as far as my health is concerned?
I removed some old double-A Panasonic batteries from an old device and the fluid leaked onto my skin. I noticed my skin was wet, and after about 20 seconds I smelled a strong ammonia-like scent. My hand started to feel tight and extremely dry so I washed them immediately. However, here I am a few hours later and my hand feels a bit swollen. Not noticeably swollen b/c others can't tell, but it feels swollen to me. Has this happened to any of you? Is this something that I should seek medical attention for? .
What happens when battery fluid leaks onto your skin? Should I be worried as far as my health is concerned?
Wash with baking soda, it counter acts acids. Unless you have an allergic reaction you should be okay. I' ve gotten battery acid on me several times here on the farm.
Reply:You should wash your hands immediately.
Batteries are acidic! Ointments should be applied to the affected area.
Reply:you should definantly seek medical help at first go to the doctors and not rush in to the hospital or er.
Reply:batteries are filled with acid. So you have burned your hand. If there are no open wounds you are ok. You did the right thing washing it off immediately.
Reply:DEPENDING ON HOW LONG THE BATTERY ACID IS IN CONTACT WITH YOUR SKIN . battery acid is still acid and can cause severe burns.. baking soda helps neutralize the effects but i havent seen it affect me in swelling but others may have allergic reaction to it .
if it persists seek medical attention mj
Reply:Yes. No need for medical aid. Apply ice or burnol cream.
These alkaline batteries contain limestone %26amp; carbon
Reply:Battery fluid is either strong acid or alkaline. If you didn't wash the fluid completely away it could cause inflammation of the skin or WCS the skin could be eaten away by the strong acid or caustic. It may be wise for you to consult a physician.

How do I get soft, dewy skin?
I have combonation skin. When I use moisterizers I break out. After I clease my face its really dry and tight. What can I do??
How do I get soft, dewy skin?
Okay, first.. I will help you with the second problem: skin that is dry and tight. I would suggest switching cleansers. Do you use a regular bar of soap? If you do, STOP! Get a cleanser made for combination skin, or switch to Anew Ultra Cream Cleanser, which makes your skin so soft you wont believe it!
Now, the first problem: Moisturizers that make you break out. It is probably just that the mosturizer you are using doesn't work for your skin type, again, make sure you are using one for your skin type.
If the problem continues, see a dermatologist.

Age 22, Dry flaky skin on cheeks and forehead after washing?
Hi,
I currently have this really annoying problem. I was wondering if anyone has the same symptoms or can shed light on the condition as my dermatologist always prescibes steroid creams which dont help:
Everytime I wash my face, or it gets wet, it become very VERY tight around my forehead and cheeks. If I dont cover my face in thick moisturising cream immediately, the tightness increases . My face looks fine, smooth and clean, but after 24 hours, I can litterally (by rubbing my fingers hard on my forhead) rub off flakes of skin....much like an eraser on paper.
Also when I get hot and start to sweat , my face feels prickly and stings a little, and once the sweat dries up...my face becomes dry again.
My doctor thinks it may be an allergy, so give me steroid cream...which doesnt help. Mositurising cream helps better, and it only happens when i sweat or wash my face.
Just a note: I was treated with large doses of oral steroid as a teen. I have no rash on my face either.

i live in a small town and the water is **** i always have dandref maybe it is the water where u live some chemical could b in it
Reply:you need to use a soap for sensitive skin and lots of moisturizer with spf too and i myself use a heavy moisturizing cream at night before i go to bed...also keep hydrated drink more water
Reply:Try a different soap. Many soaps over dry the skin. Also many have oils and fragrances that can irritate the skin. I've found that Ivory works the best to keep my skin clear and clean.
Reply:hey you apply lots of cream everyday after washing or if you use a face wash stop using it.

How do you tighten your skin and make your face flawless?
My skin is ageing and I think it's due to prolonged exposure to the sun. It's no longer tight and I have brown spots and acne scars. What do I do? Is there any DIY I can do? I prefer not to buy so many products at the market.
How do you tighten your skin and make your face flawless?
Well here are some home remedies you can try.
To tighten the skin, use eggwhite every night and leave it on for half an hour on cleansed face. After which rinse off thoroughly.
For brown sports or age sports, you can use juice of lemon and dab on those spots only(on clean face). leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off.
For acne scars, try St Ives' AHA masque . Use it once or twice a week. Your acne scar will lighten visibly.
Above all, depending on your skin type, do use a sunblock on a daily basis. SPF 30 or above. Use a gel sunblockl if you have acne prone skin. If not, you can try coppertone spf 30.
This will help prevent more brown spots from developing.
If you have the time, try this herbal cleansing soup which will help with all the above:
Ingredients:
1. two black mushrooms
2. half a burdock
3. 1 carrot
4. half a white carrot
5. 1 stick of celery
dice the ingredients to equal sizes and boil them for about an hour. For the first week, you can take the soup three or four times in a row. For the 2nd week you can reduce to twice a week and carryon with the same dosage.
You will notice a pink glow immediately after the first intake.
Its a detox soup which will help with lightening the scars and of course melting away all those brown spots and prevent new ones from forming.
And oh, do stay from fried potatoes and cheeze and fried corn for at least half a year til your problems are resolved.
All the best :)
Reply:try arbonne's nutrimin c transforming lift! it is wow! these products also have kojic acid a NATURAL SKIN LIGHTning agent! all of there products are botanically based, pure safe and beneficial

Living with teenage, combination, acne-prone skin; And questions about Microdermabrasion.?
For years now, I've struggled with randomated dry patches, bumpy areas and uneven skin-tone scattered about my acne-prone skin.
Now, I'm trying to do something about it, but I need some advice.
My acne comes and goes ((it all depends on my stess-levels and what I'm wearing on my face)), but I'd like to know if there's a pill or something else that can cure it from the inside.
Scrubs and washes with Salicylic Acid tend to overdry my face, and make it feel tight and look ashy. Even three step programs like ProActive have had this effect.
Any tips?
Also too, for the rough/dark/bumpy/liney patches and areas, I've heard Microdermabrasion is ideal. However, you can only get this done with the help of a plastic surgeon.
But! There are many scrub sets and the like around these days that promise the same results, within a few days ((even Mary Kay offers one)). Are these trustworthy, or should I just get the Microdermabrasion done?
Thanks!
Living with teenage, combination, acne-prone skin; And questions about Microdermabrasion.?
You can get microdermabrasion done at almost any spa these days. You don't have to go to a plastic surgeon. It may make your skin dry though. What I found that worked for me was Photo Rejuvenation. It actually makes the skin glow.

Mary Kay's Microdermabrastion is the same quality used in dermotologist offices create with dermatologist.
You can request a sample to try it or find a consultant in your area to sit down with you. I have had several customers tell me proactive has dried them out however they have great success with Mary Kay blemish control line. It really depends on your skin others are happy with proactive so in order to answer your questions in more detail I would have to ask more questions.

Step 1: Refine c ontains aluminum oxide crystals – the same professional-grade, highly refined aluminum oxide
crystals that dermatologists use. These crystals are super exfoliants that gently buff away rough, dull, lifeless skin
cells that naturally accumulate on the surface of your skin. Step 2: Replenish is a serum that nourishes the newly
revealed healthier young er-looking skin with vitamins, antioxidants and an anti-irritant. It soothes, smoothes and
softens the skin.
Many brands offer only one step. Others merely offer a moisturizer as the second step. Step 2: Replenish really separates Mary Kay’s microdermabrasion set from the competition. It is a rich serum, containing vitamins, antioxidants and anti-irritants that nourishes the soft, smooth skin revealed by Step 1: Refine.

What are the skin-sores my kitten is giving me?
Last week, on a tight budget, we took our kitten to the vet. She had earmites. We've been treating her with drops. Now within the past few days, both of us have noticed that we are developing circular sores on our arms, chest, and one on my back. they are circular and the skin in the middle of them is somewhat scaley. Does anyone know what this could be or if(hopefully) it could be the earmites? Please help me!
What are the skin-sores my kitten is giving me?
it sound like ring worm
Reply:it sounds like ring worm go to the doctor
Reply:It sounds like ringworm. To be on the safe side you see what a Doctor would say.
Reply:It does sound like ringworm which is not a worm but a fungal skin infection and its very common in kittens. Get kitty to the vet for treatment ASAP. There are both prescription and over-the-counter treatments for humans, but if you have more than one little patch, go see your doctor. It is highly contagious to other cats and dogs as well as humans, so do jump on it quickly.
Reply:does it itch? if so, it's ring worm. you need an antifungal cream, go to the doc or see a pharmacist. kitty will need creams too, ask her vet what to do (a call will suffice).
Reply:yes like the thers said ringworm which you can treat yourself by using athletes foot cream although always a good optionfor a doctor or pharmasist to confirm. Also get your cat to the vet.
Reply:ringworm. Very treatable. BTW... it's not really a worm.. it's a fungus, like athlete's foot.
Okay, maybe doctors wouldn't advise this, but it worked for me.
Bleach in a small cup, full strength. Use a cutip to dip into the bleach and apply to the ringworm. Do it 2 or 3 times a day. Should kill the ringworm pretty fast. Try to avoid getting bleach on your skin, JUST on the ringworm. Using a cutip helps to be precise.
Iodine can also kill ringworm, but I've had better luck with bleach.
I wouldn't do that for the cat, just you guys. Let the vet take care of the cat.
If your sores look anything like this, then it's definitely ringworm..

Reply:Ringworm. It's not a worm, it's a fungus under the skin that does this.
It's easily treated. The cat will get better in a month with treatment, but humans take two months.
Go down to the pharmacy or a drugstore like Walgreens, and get yourself a tube of Miconazole or Monistat 3, it has the chemical you need in it to get rid of the fungus. Apply some of the cream three times a day on the bare area, and put a band aid over your rings after you put the cream on it.
The Monistat 3 is the standard type, Miconazole is the generic, so either one will work. It's a 4% solution. Usually the vet gives a 2% solution which is weaker, but a 4% one works on cats just fine.
I went through that last August. It clears up with treatment, don't worry.

Glycolic peel tightens my skin?
It's been a week ago since my first glycolic peel. The doctor also gave me a glycolic soap and medicated cleanser to use in the morning and at night. So I think it's natural to feel your skin tightening right.
But how long is this tightening gonna take? Because I feel my face is so tight that I can't freely smile and it feels like I'm having a buttocks.
Glycolic peel tightens my skin?
I've had this done before and it should be better in at most another week.
Also if you see your skin is getting iritated, stop using the gycolic soap or any products that are harsh or have acid in it. Just make sure you use sun screen when you go out and give your face a few more days to heal and you'll notice it feeling like normal in no time.
Good luck!
Mahsa
Reply:It depends on how healthy your skin is. I had to do a treatment similar to yours. It didn't start taking effect until after a month, and the tightening of the skin stayed for about a couple weeks.
The not being able to smile right did kinda feel weird, but at least your face isn't so dry that it cracks. Make sure you put sunblock on whenever you go outside though.

ARGH teh excess skin!?
hello. i am 16 years old and obese (hate the word eurgh) but am losing weight and have lost a stone (YUSS!) and then i remembered this excess skin stuff which im concerned about. my mum says i really need to work out quite hard to get rid of it and "stay relatively tight" as i am working out by doing abdominal excersizes and weights etc etc, but i dont beleive her, and im sure im stuck with it for life. well am i? (i dont really mind i can live with but others might find it kinda gross)
ARGH teh excess skin!?
You areyoung and your skin still has a very "elastic" quality to it. With exercise, you should be in really good shape again with everything toned up. If you were older, you'd DEFINITELY have more of a problem with excess skin not snapping back even with exercise. Now's the time to do it, believe me! You're gonna' look great!
Reply:im going through the same crap right now too my doctor said it just takes a little longer but keep on working out and your body will adjust
keep it up
Reply:at your age your skin is still quite elastic, you may just get away with it , you may have stretch marks that will fade in time - keep up the good work exercises will increase your metabolism great for burning off fat quickly -it will also tone the parts that you want toning the most, just think of that tidy six pack and tight butt, fashion will take on a whole new meaning - good luck for your long and happy future.
Reply:Hi,
Congratulations on losing the weight, you have done really well!!!
I think you should listen to your Mum, you need regular exersise to keep your body in shape now, you want to make the most of what you have achieved already.
There are lots of different ways of doing it, swimming, dancing, walking, and work out video's if you want to do this at home..
I would be careful of weights though, at 16 you are still developing %26amp; you wouldn't want to over do it..
I wish you continued good luck for your weight loss, keep some of your old clothes for a reminder, it's great when you put them on %26amp; they hang off you!! It all helps!!

How do you know if a cleanser irritates your skin?
im using a cetaphil cleanser and im not really sure if it irritates my skin but whenever i apply it and clean it off with water, my face will feel tight but if i touch my face it feels smooth and fine. what are some signs of irritated skin, is this one of them?
How do you know if a cleanser irritates your skin?
nope irritation is when something is bothering your face like itching or burning =) but having a tight feeling after washing your face is a bad thing. That means you face is dry so moisturize

Tightening up the skin on the face?
As the day goes by, my skin on my face seems to droop more or something...after my face wash wears off. Is there anything that can be done to keep it tight?

Women with acneprone skin/rosacea/over 40 - what is your favorite foundation?
In a perfect world, I'd like to find a foundation with realistic color, not so oil-free that it makes my skin dry and chalky, that covers the rosacea and undereye circles beautifully, and does not make my face break out. (Well, let's be honest - in a REALLY perfect world I would look like Heidi Klum and wouldn't even need foundation!)
I'm on a tight budget right now, so drug-store brands are preferable....however, if a more expensive product performs like it claims, I am certainly willing to pay the price.
Any suggestions?

My mom is over 40 and uses the brand Wet and Wild...It looks nice and is affordable. Hope it helped.

Clinique make a wonderful foundation in a tube called Continuous Coverage. It even has an SPF of 15. A little goes a long way making the cost economical in the long run.
Reply:Clinique's powder foundation is the best type of coverage for rosacea skin.
Reply:Believe it or not Mary Kay. I hate to look made up and I don't wear it often. I have sensitive skin b/c of Eczema. I don't like liquid foundation so I opted for their powder foundation but I have used their liquid and it worked great. The make-up doesn't feel heavy or look cakey. I hate to see women with caked on make-up, a color that makes them look orange or yellow, or makes them look shiny. Never had that problem with Mary Kay. I've also used Mac (more expensive) but liked that as well for the same reasons.

I hate to see women with caked on make-up, a color that makes them look orange or yellow, or makes them look shiny. Never had that problem with Mary Kay. I've also used Mac (more expensive) but liked that as well for the same reasons.

What is my skin type and what toner & makeup should i buy?
my face has a few flaky spots after i get pimples, i also have pimple scarring. When I wash my face it gets a bit tight and its not oily. but by 12 in the afternoon it gets oily, and especially with all the makeup i wear. so wut do u recommend?
this is what i use:
face wash- cetaphil for oily skin
moisturizer: oil of olay ..ONLY sometimes
Makeup:
concealer- covergirls fresh complexion (but when i use it, it looks really cakey, b/c i use it to cover scars and pimples)
liq. foundation- CG's oil free makeup
powder- CG's clean pressed powder(i only use it sometimes cuz of the concealer)
What is my skin type and what toner %26amp; makeup should i buy?
The face cleanser and all.....go with what Annie L said.
Makeup:
concealer-Hide It corrective concealer from LAminerals
foundation: Hollywood Face Base from LAminerals.
I use em both and have some acne, but honestly just break out once a month now! My skin has cleared up a lot since I stopped using liquids or cream to powders, or anything with talc in it.
Talc clogs your pores bad. I wore bare minerals for a while, then arbonne, then some from the store, but they all made my face itch. The ingredient bismuth oxychloride was in all of them. That's why I switched to LAminerals.
Their greenish concealer works great at neutralizing the red blemishes. The yellowish one hides scars good, dark spots, and I use it under my eyes and beside my eyes/nose area to brighten it. Then I brush on my mineral foundation and ....whalla....skin that is one color!
Reply:i recommend you use bare minerals i have acne and it covers it really well..and it doesnt look cakey so datz g0od
Reply:For a cleanser try using Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil-Controlling Cleanser. It helps control the oil on the face but is non-comedogenic(won't clog pores).
Toner: Neutrogena Alcohol free toner it tightens the face but won't dry it out
Moisturizer-Neutrogena Oil-free Moisturizer will help combat oil but also help hydrate the skin.
Makeup: Bare Escentuals it is so light and does not go on cakey. The coverage can be natural or build up to have more coverage. A great substitute for it is Neutrogena Mineral Powder.

Super dry skin...?
I have really dry skin on my face. I exfoliate and do micro-dermabrasion and mositerise like a mad woman! Nothing helps! Any products that you can suggest would be great. I am in the US so the products have to be available here. I am also on a fairly tight budget so on the cheaper side would be great too!! Thanks!
Super dry skin...?
know that there are various factors that can be able to rob the moisture out of your body. and these are humidity, dry air, too much exposure to the sun and extreme cold weather. better try to have measures that can protect the skin from drying. adequate amount of water is needed to keep the skin hydrated. also, try using an all natural skin care moisturizer, this can help lock in moisture to the skin all day. avoid smoking and alcohol for they can dry out the skin. for more tips to be able to get rid of dry skin visit http://www.skinsosilky.com
Reply:Well its not very cheap but It works wonderfully. I have eczema(dry itchy bumps) and I use Aveeno. If you don't use alot then it last's a long time. It's about $7.00 :/ but it works really well. GOOD LUCK
Reply:i have supper dry skin and the only thing that helps me is 100% petroleum jelly (skin protectant).
Reply:STOP exfoliating etc. ppl think that it is the best thing for dry skin but it isn't. exfoliaters remove oils that can dry skin up i know becoz i had this problem b4 n i dnt recommed exfoliators too drying!! stop touching ur skin n use e45 cream or a really good rich moisterizer for face. keep moisterizing regularly and stop washing wiv water etc n use a cream cleanser wiv cotton balls rather than water, instead!!!

General Numbness of skin?
Hey.
For a bit now, the hips from kind of around near my waist, to very top of thighs has got this... numbess to it. And a little bit sore/tender to touch. I can still feel pain but its just not.. like the rest of my body.
I was just wondering what it is and how I can fix it.
Please note that it is winter where I am, and I have very dry skin generally (not sure if this has anything to do with it, or if its cause by chaffing or tight pants (even though I am quite slim)
It seems slightly red at times..
Just any imput (if you know what your talking about) Im just freaking out a bit you know :P
General Numbness of skin?
I would try a warm to medium hot salt bath...if this does not help...I would definantly call my dr...could just be a nerve that is pinched...that is what it sounds like...but, don't take chances with your health, not worth it in the long run....best of luck...let us know how you are doing....concerned
Reply:How old are you? Do you sit alot? It really sounds like a circulation problem (not enough blood flow to that area) Check with a doctor, if it is that, it could be damaging after a long period of time
Reply:Well if it isn't your low back out of whack and needing to go to the chiropractor then it could be a disease you don't want to have ..Go to a Chiropractor first and if he tells you to go to a neurologist do it...It could be as simple as a pinched nerve but don't mess around with it!
Fibromyalgia. certain types of neuropathy Multiple Sclerosis can cause some symptoms like that ...There is no cure for any of those ..You can treat the symptoms with alternatives but that doesn't guarantee any thing but maybe helping you feel better..
I have MS and I found out in the beginning stages of my 5th pregnancy..I have probably had it for many years but a diagnosis was harder to get 15 years ago then it is now ..I was paralyzed from the hips down for about 8 weeks...That's not the only time I have been paralyzed.. Every day I feel some numbness and tingling in different parts of my body and my balance is always bad...So don't prolong going to the Dr. Good luck to you and if you want to email feel free to do so ...
Pain and numbness tingling and paralysis along with allot of other sypmtoms come with MS...It is better to know for sure what is going on then not ..Because there'a allot of things you can do to help your body by edcating yourself..

You ae cutting off your circulation with those tight pants, that's why you're numb

Son on steroid cream for very tight foreskin?
my 3 year old son has recently been put onto a steroid cream to help fix an overly tight foreskin which is causing a few problems. hes been on it a few days and today noticed that he has developed a bright red line on the foreskin about 1/2- 1 cm and looks like the skin may be starting to split from the extra pressure. has anyone else had to use this cream and if so did it work or any problems?
Son on steroid cream for very tight foreskin?
its from attention shall i say i think since hes a young one his skins still sensitive
i would recommend just get a circumsizion i had one because of the same problem and im 13 now , no problems since
Reply:get that kid back to your doctor pronto!
Reply:why dont you just get him circumsized it would save him alot of pain and he might be greatfull for it in the long run
Reply:I know very little about this situation except for two things:
Any form of pharmaceuticals given to youngsters is not a good idea, no matter who says so. The only intake kids need is loads of fresh greens and protein. I won't go all veggie, but easy on the dairy, that was supposed to come from Mom and stop at teething.
There really isn't anything wrong with circumcision, at three years it is probably painful, but when little Dan'l Boone understands it's a Man thing and can save America from the Martians..... you get my point.
My Mom had me sliced up in case of germs, and I have no memory of it. At three years, who knows what he may remember, but once he is married and down the road a few doors, he won't wave it over your head! I like my me as I am, and so do whatshername and her sister....
Reply:My son was put on the same cream somewhat younger than your son is now. I found more problems around getting the cream on/in than anything else. I didn't notice any lines around his foreskin, so I'd go back to your doctor and get it checked out.
Because getting the cream on was SOOO difficult we didn't persist for very long. Thankfully this situation resolved itself.
Reply:my son had the cream too but no reation like that. Get back to the doctor and have it checked
Reply:A 3 year-old's forskin is usually still adhered to the glans. has someone been trying to retract it prematurely? The rule is "if he can pee, let it be"

Reply:It's unusual that the cream is needed on a 3 year old, but you don't say what problems the overly tight foreskin is causing. I haven't heard of that side effect and it sounds more like a side effect of an attempt at foreskin retraction rather than the cream. But if you think the cream is causing problems then take him back to the doctor so they can see what the line is all about. Studies show the cream is very effective, although those studies are done in teens when it is usually used. I wouldn't recommend circumcision either with the info you have given. Dry skin & tattoos...?
During dry weather %26amp; especially during the winter, my tattoos get 'tight' feeling %26amp; raise up a bit so that I can feel them. Normally, they're smooth %26amp; not "bumpy" to the touch. Is this just a dry skin issue, or something I should worry about?
Dry skin %26amp; tattoos...?
my blue ink on my arm band reacts like that sometimes. I think it's a combination of the lotion i'm using with the sun. It's like an allergic reaction. I use neosporin in dry weather with sunscreen. it seems to help. and no the tattoos aren't new it just works for me.
Reply:Well, remember that tattooed skin is actually scar tissue. So it's normal that they would feel more notiable when your skin is tight from dry weather. You can try putting some moisturizer on them if you want, but it's nothing to be worried about.
Reply:sounds like maybe a dry skin issue. try curel. it works wonders. i would still try to go to a dermatologyst though or maybe a tattoo place to get a second opinion. you can never be too careful with your skin. good luck! :o)
Reply:Its nothing to worry about. You just need to moisturize more often with a good body cream. Try Aveeno.
Reply:My tattoo on my lower back does that too and I have had it for about 6 years now. Even when the skin is not dry sometimes it will be raised where the ink is at. It usually only does it during cold weather for me as well, not much in the warm months. I would not worry about it, maybe put some lotion on it and see if it helps, it usually just goes away for me.
Reply:My skin, tattooed or otherwise, is like that when I'm in dry, cold weather. I'd lean towards a touch more moisturizer during such times assuming the skin feels dry.
Reply:I don't know about the tight feeling, but I have 3 tattoos and 2 of them have the raised up feeling to them. What I was told about that by the artist that did the one that isn't raised up is that the tattoos were done too deep and that's what caused it to be raised up like that. I guess she knew what she was talking about because the one she did isn't like that. I can't tell where it is unless I look and the others I just have to feel. I would use a good lotion on it every day, especially when you get out of the shower, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Reply:have you tryed to put lotion on them like a non scented lotion... this may help it sounds like your skin is dryed out and then tightens up .. mine did this once i put lotion on it and it was fine

Dry Skin on Forehead?
My forehead feels dry sometimes. I'm not sure how to explain it but it feels kinda tight. I look really close to the mirror and see very minor lines (really minor) but are they fine lines (at least the initial stage) or cracked skin?
Dry Skin on Forehead?
Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/

Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?
I am aware that a preferable option would be to go to a dermatologist to have them cut out or burned off - but that's considered a cosmetic procedure by my insurance so I'd have to pay out of pocket, and that ain't gonna happen. I have been reading up on the home-remedy methods of skin tag removal and this one sounds the most up my alley (if you tie a string around one tight until it falls off, doesn't that, like, HURT a lot? or pinch constantly??) - so if you've ever done this or know anyone who has, tell me your personal experiences!
Has anyone ever used New Skin liquid bandage to get rid of skin tags?
I've only ever used New Skin to cover open wounds like a Band Aid. It provides a waterproof protective barrier to keep germs and dirt out. Maybe you're thinking of a wart remover like Compound W?
Reply:I got rid of the skin tags under my arm using a product that also got rid of a few moles that I was also worried. It softens the tough cell walls of unhealthy skin so your body's immune system can destroy the unhealthy cells. You only have to apply it 3 times in 24 hours. It did hurt a little for a bout an hour. Not bad though. It turned a dark color and fell off in about 5 days. I ordered it from LifeLineLLC@yahoo.com It was a little expensive... about $90... but like I said I also got rid of several moles I was worried about too... so it was worth it.

Do I really need to use moisturiser, if I have acne, and my skin isn't that dry?
My doctor said I don't really need a moisturiser as they can usually make things worse when you have acne... my skin isn't extremely dry but sometimes it feels just a bit tight after I've washed my face. Is it best just to leave out the moisturiser?
Do I really need to use moisturiser, if I have acne, and my skin isn't that dry?
well, i think u should use the special moisturiser, for oily skin. i read from the 'clinique' artical about oily skin, even if u are having that problem, u should put some moisturiser, especially with sunblock, or ur skin might worsen. try to find less-shiny effect moisturiser that suits ur skin. i got that problem too years ago, and i wasn't comfortable using moisturiser, but now i found one that suits me ; vaseline. yea, it wont leave shiny look. n my skin are much much better. thnk god.
Reply:Your doctor is right. Moisturizer would just add oil to what you already have. I had severely oily skin when growing up, and I used to carry around "blotting tissues". You can buy them online or at a drugstore/Wal-Mart. Or, you can be cheap, like me, and take a couple of those toilet seat protectors you find in bathrooms and cut them into smaller pieces. They are made of exactly the same material, and it will keep your skin "less oily" and less shiny throughout the day.
Reply:Yes moisturizers are so over used, even without acne. They are a temporary fix for people with wrinkles and people spend so much on them. Keep your face clean and with as little as possible on it.
Reply:You should always use moisturiser even if you have oily skin - this would help your skin look younger for longer. There are special moisturisers for oily skin - they are non-greasy ones (whih don't block pores - therefore don't make acne worse) and you can buy relatively cheap ones. It doesn't help to reduce acne though. What might help - is an established cleaning routine - wash your face, use tonic then apply light, non-greasy moisturiser with antibacterial qualities. Do this every day - the choice of products is yours.
There are different solutions on how to get rid of acne, and for different people different things help, so I wouldn't give you any recommendations - you just have to find yours.
But the moisturiser is not a solution, weather you use it or not.

well, i think u should use the special moisturiser, for oily skin. i read from the 'clinique' artical about oily skin, even if u are having that problem, u should put some moisturiser, especially with sunblock, or ur skin might worsen. try to find less-shiny effect moisturiser that suits ur skin. i got that problem too years ago, and i wasn't comfortable using moisturiser, but now i found one that suits me ; vaseline. yea, it wont leave shiny look. n my skin are much much better.
My foreskin has white dead skin on it?
Masterbated as a teen and had a tight foreskin. Sometimes it would tear and split but i didn't get it seen to. Now at 27 it still has this dead skin layer where the abraisions were, like its to damp there to every heal and dry out properly? Tried the antifungal creams etc but i no longer have the problem, just the legacy! I've tried gently scraping it off with a blade edge or my finger nail and its good for a while but the white tissue returns after a few days... Even considering getting circumsized as its ugly and looks unclean. My foreskin is slightly tight when erect but i can still pull in back and forth over my head with or without lube. Just feel like a nude beach holiday is needed to dry it out and let it heal??? Thanks for any comments!
My foreskin has white dead skin on it?
You don't need a circumcision. Your foreskin is still a little tight and if you think that might be a problem you can try stretching exercises. To do this you take two fingers and stretch the opening of the foreskin as far as it'll go without pain (like increasing its radius) by hooking a finger on either side of the foreskin opening. It's a bit hard to describe, but do this for a few minutes each and in a few weeks to a month you should have no tightness, or at least a lot less.
The dead white skin thing can happen anywhere on the body. The first thing to do is to make sure you wash the area thoroughly during a shower but pulling back your foreskin and washing all around the area with water and mild soap, like any other part of the body. That should remove most of the dead skin. Dry the area thoroughly afterwards if you want. If it looks dry put some lotion on it, that might help. Neosporin or something like that might be a good idea also.
Scrapping it off with like a blade edge or your fingernail is actually a bad idea because you make it worse and it'll never clear itself. The dead skin is to protect what's healing under it, so if you take it off "prematurely" then it'll just keep coming back. It's kind of like picking off a scab over and over again. If you leave it alone for long enough, probably a few weeks at most, it should gradually shrink and disappear. If it's still there, you may want to see a doctor about it, probably a dermatologist.
Reply:You're a wanking freak and should have washed your fool tool more often. Go see a doctor about it and leave your little buddy alone for awhile.
Reply:its called smegma and its not unusual. wash your penis every day and there should not be a problem.
Reply:why didn't you get it cut off when you were a baby? that's what i did
Reply:this is NOT smegma. I had the exact same thing happen in a few spots where I slightly cut %26amp; abraded my foreskin. the white coloration of the skin never disappeared. It's not harmful, just unsightly. This can happen anywhere on the body, in fact. This will not affect your functioning - it is not dangerous. Just peculiar looking. You can learn to ignore this.
I encourage you to consider a nice circumcision, will make your prick look so handsome, neat %26amp; modern, sleek %26amp; well-groomed. I had mine after 30 - andI'm only sorry I waited so long. L5 S1 Protruding Disc, with DDD in that disc, having skin pain in thighs and lower back?
I'm a 31 active male with back problems. I have had some pain on my skin on both my legs and lower back for about 3 days. It feels like burning sensatation to pins and needle feeling on my skin. I've been taking Ibouprofen 4 @ 200mg every 4 to 6 hrs to try to control the skin pain. I've have never experienced this type of pain before. I have had sciatca from time to time and this feels nothing like that. The pain that I am having is skin pain? Anyone else with these symptoms or ever had this? My lower back is very tight feeling and muscles are inflammed. I have a tens unit, but not helping me out with this one.
L5 S1 Protruding Disc, with DDD in that disc, having skin pain in thighs and lower back?
Is the skin pain on the anterior, posterior, or lateral side of your legs? The nerves that innervate those areas are the anterior, posterior, and lateral femoral cutaneous nerves (feel free to look those up). sciatica would cause sensory loss in the foot and side of calf and pain down the back of the thigh to the foot, as you probably already know. If you have no loss of muscle, it is probably a cutaneous (innervates the skin) nerve. Lateral FCN comes from the spinal nerves L2-L3, Posterior from S1-S3, and Anterior from the femoral nerve L2-L4. Your back may hurt because the pain is causing you to tense up, but if it is a herniated disc in the L2-S3 range, it probably wouldnt be screwing with your back muscles. Anyway, its been a few months since we dissected the back in gross anatomy, so I may be missing something...good luck...and no offense to anyone, but I would go see a REAL doctor, first.
Reply:Yes, nerve pain can vary from burn, to sharp, to dull ache.
You REALLY need to go see a chiropractor. I see this everyday in my office and have a huge success rate. Medications will only cover the symptoms, which allows the cause to continue and worsen.
You have had a back problem for some time and have always treated the symptom(pain) instead of the cause(misaligned vertebrae).
Reply:Until the inflammation is gone the pain main continue, sounds like a nerve is compressed from the swelling. Have this every time my back problems are really bad and it is worse that the back pain . you can hardly touch the skin and to massage makes it worse. Hot baths with mild stretching then ice may help or try icy hot patches continue with the ibuprofen and go to the doctor have another MRI done to rule out further injury or other DDD.
Reply:you need pain pills from the doctor.
Reply:Have an MRI to see if you have nerve root displacement or possibly the protuding disc has not herniated. I finally had to have a discectomy for my L5-S1 herniation and that alleviated all nerve pain. I tried every medication out there with no help with the nerve pain, which was more anoying and painful than the back pain.Good luck!

Can your skin get addicted????
I dont know if this is a dumb question or not, i was just wondering if your skin could get sooo used a certain product that it reacts differently if you dont use it. I ask because i've been using this moisturizer for some time and now, after i wash my face, if i dont put it on immediately i feel my face almost burn and get really tight....the same thing with my lips, i always keep them conditions so if i go about 20 minutes without chapstick or lipgloss, my lips start to burn, even if they are not chapped.....im just wondering if my skin somehow is like and addict to these products.lol
Can your skin get addicted????
Of course, anything that you put in or on your body, it will give you a certain response. If the chemicals are frequently used, your brain sends a signal that it "wants" them in the body so you unconsciously apply the products on you. I'm not sure if that is a good thing though. Depends on what products you are using. BTW, it is not a stupid question. The world needs people like you who would ask in order to learn.
Reply:yes...this is totally possible and likely

What are the symptoms of tight foreskin?
i think i have a tight foreskin, but i'm not sure.if it is what should i do?i cant stretch the skin backwards in erect conditions
What are the symptoms of tight foreskin?
Symptoms? A tight foreskin.
I was the same when I was younger, and now it slides fine with no problems whatsoever. Just pull back your foreskin when you shower the most you can without forcing it, and rub the head. That should encourage it to separate from the head. This is probably all you have to do at your age, since this is common. You just haven't 'used' it enough, as in masturbation and washing it.
And if its rather tight, you can get a cream that works in over 90% of cases. It's 0.05% betamethasone or betamethasone dipropionate. And unlike circumcision it is very cheap ($12 in the USA), painless, and you don't risk decreasing sensitivity/pleasure and making masturbation more difficult.

Some may say that circumcision will fix it, but circumcision's risks include reduction in sensitivity and pleasure, and making masturbation more difficult according to studies. There's a reason why the USA is the last remaining advanced nation still doing it, and even so, it's getting a lot less popular. Save that as a last resort, as you're doing.

Reply:i used to have one too mate, what i did was when i masturbated i pulled it back slightly just before it started hurting every day stretching it out and eventually one day i could pull my foreskin behind my head! I was so excited when that happened i could barely contain myself i wanted to show someone but alas 19 year old going around screaming that he can finally retract his foreskin all the way back wouldn't garner the attention i wanted lol. I accomplished full retraction within a few months i think just don't rush it and you'll be fine.
Reply:snip snip clip clip oh what a relief it is
If you cant retract it that may be a problem. If you can pull the skin back when you are soft, to clean it, many men go through life just fine like that.
You can also ask for a European circumcision where they clip just enough to remove the right part and leave 3/4 or so of the skin

Very dry skin around eyes and eyebrows please help?
My skin is extremely dry under my eyebrows this is so embarassing but you can see it (i dont have any scalp dandruff though) and also above my eye lids are very very dry. Ive tried all the lotions over the counter, currently using loreal age perfect night cream it seems the best. I used vasaline, I tried taking vitamin E, fish oil, and flax oil vitamins. I have this all year long but its worse now in the cold weather. I'm 20 and kind of just got this problem after high school. I DID have anorexia all through high school so i know that could make my skin bad, but I've maintained a healthy weight for over a year now. Please any vitamins i need to take or any really good otc lotion?? I wake up flaking:( Moneys really tight for a dermatologist so any advice is appreciated THANK YOU!
Very dry skin around eyes and eyebrows please help?
Drink plenty of water to hydrate from the inside first. Do vaseline at night and lotion with shea/cocoa butter during the day. Bobbi brown (although expensive) make a great vitamin E cream. Try a sample at their makeup counter before splurging on it.
Reply:Love u need to get the right cream for your skin, it sounds like u have a combination skin, and the right face wash. also drink a lot of water. U have to norish your skin from the inside too.
Reply:Try Clinique - All about eyes in the day and at night I use Daily eye benefits. It helped me tremendously. It softens the dry skin.
Reply:i used to have bad dry skin around my eyes as well. it made it really difficult to put makeup on because it would make my dry skin more prominent.
i have eczema so i know all too well about dry skin. i've tried every lotion, presciption, and cream i possibly could and nothing worked.
but after years of searching, i found a super cheap miracle that is my beauty secret i'll use until the day i die.
if you go to walmart, in the pharmacy section..ask them to help you find the hydrocortisone cream. i get the equate brand in the white and blue box. i live by this stuff. after you take a shower..apply a little dab each on any dry spots you have. even your eyelids. if you keep it up, the dryness should be gone within a week. just keep using it everyday and it should keep the dry spots away. look i even ryhmed for you. lol.
but seriously...my sister had really bad dryness on her eyelids and i told her to use this and it cleared it up for her as well.
it's SUPER cheap too! 1.97 for the little tube or 3.97 for the big tube.
lol i sound alittle obsessed but i'm really not. i just love this stuff and want to let everyone with dry skin know about it because it really works!
Reply:While it appears almost anywhere on parts of the body with skin, DRY SKIN PROBLEM responds well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an all-natural cream that contains natural oils that gives soothing and glowing results.
In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.
Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include lotions with natural-oil ingredients. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

Dog hair loss and hard skin around the area?
Q. My chihuahua has some hair loss On the right side of her neck it's like a dot and now the skin around the the area is hard. I hope you can help me
(no tight collar or frontline or any other flea and tick medication)
Dog hair loss and hard skin around the area?
It may be caused by Mange.
Mange is an irritation of the skin, primarily resulting in hair loss and sometimes including itching and inflammation, all of which are caused by microscopic mites. Mange is most commonly found in dogs and other canines, but it can occur in other domestic and wild animals, and occasionally in humans.
The mites embed themselves in the hair follicles or skin, depending on the type, making both detection and treatment difficult. The condition can be treated with parasiticidal shampoo, topical or oral medication, or injections, but it takes time and patience for repeated applications, and almost always requires veterinary care.

The vet said it has some kind of dermatitis problem and to soak in Epsom's salt every day.

Reply:Could be a "hot spot", could be ringworm, could be allergy, could be a lot of things which is why it would be good to take her to the vet to get the right treatment for whatever is causing the problem. GL with your chihuahua.
Reply:your dog might have a skin condition, my small dog had that and two months ago, i changed the shampoo and got him conditioner and that fixed it! Your dog can be allergic to his soap!
If i lose weight will i have exsesse skin?
HI My Name is Chris. I Weight about 296 and i'm 17 years old, i'm currently on a diet now and wanted to lose about 40-50 pounds and gain muscle too. So if i lose 40-50 pounds will i have extra skin on my belly , if i do then how do i make it tight and get a 6 pack becasue i want to be about 240 and no higher and no lower , becasue i'm going to be getting taller too plus i play baseball.
If i lose weight will i have exsesse skin?
If you lose the weight properly you won't have excess skin problems. Also, you're young...so your skin still has all of it resilience so it won't be a problem. People mostly get saggy skin after a verrrry fast, uncontrolled weight loss. Like lap band or gastric bypass surgery..you'll be fine..good luck
Reply:Try to only lose about 2 to 3 lbs. a week and you will not have any access skin.
Reply:yeah the other guy is right. just dieting without excercise will let you lose the fat (and a lot of muscle on top) and you end up with excess skin. if you diet and excercise you can prevent some of the xs skin, but not all of it. it takes a long time.... the faster you lose the weight, the more likely it is to have xs skin. lose the weight slowly and with excercise and it should work out alright.

Skin...weirdness...lol help?
are you using a different soap, and thing differnet in you life style??? if youve changed your soap its because your face is to dried out....... sometimes soaps are to strong for oily skin.. ive ran into that problem a time or two.... if its from swimming its because the chlorine is to strong

My skin's oily but when washed gets dry & flaky! help!?
I use a cucumber toner from Bath %26amp; Body Works that makes it feel less tight and dry, but it's still somewhat flaky; even after using an exfoliating scrub or mask. I sometimes use proactiv but lately use cream cleansers from Neutrogena. I can't find a foundation that I can use with my skin without it looking blotchy because of my flaky skin, no matter what I do; I also need one that's light, because it tends to make my face oilier and more susceptive to breakouts. Any advice?

Don't' put so much crap on your face. You have to let it heal. Wash your face gently 2 times a day. I'm guess you try and scrub off the dry skin... that just makes things worse.

If problems persist go see a dermatologist!!
Reply:i think u should go to dermatoligist
Reply:my friends face always gets dry..and flaky in the winter. if u look online i think their is a special cream for that
Reply:instead of washing it use ponds facial wipes.that is what i use.
Reply:you need a moisturizer for combination skin
Reply:Try an oil free moisturizer. Oil of Olay has good ones.
Reply:You need to pick up bare minerals. You need a toner like the one that Proactiv offers to balance your PH then find a light weight moisturizer with no alcohol content. Good luck.
Reply:Go and buy stuff for oily skin, They have cleansers, makeup and everything
Reply:Don't use soap on your face. Use "Noxema" skin cream, wear some under your make-up. My friend does that and has beautiful skin. Unless its inherited.

The skin of my nipples tends to point out, is there something like a cream of some sort to make the skin hard?
I made 15 years old male, I have the type of nipples that if you just barely even put your finger on them they won't even point out, it is just the skin! but I have noticed whenever they get hard, they look perfect.. such as when I am cold
I usually wear a tight undershirt just to make it look like I don't have man boobs and its annoying, I even tryed super-glue, that actually worked but unfortunately wayy too painful

are you heavy set? cuz if you are thats the only way you can have manboobs.... plus if you work out on your arms it even out your body parts. i have a big pectoral area and when i was younger i though i was getting manboobs but i noticed they were muscles, i worked on my arms alot harder to get them bigger to even them out so now i have nice pecs. manboobs tend to come from fat people. goodluck with your nipps though

Why would pressing into the skin, lightly, on my bottom, thighs and legs cause pain?
I'm not certain how to explain my issue, but for about a year now, I've noticed that when I push into my thighs with fingers or legs, even just a bit of pressure, it is very painful. Sometimes if I lean against something and press into my thighs, butt, or legs it is painful. I don't understand. I've had a lot of indigestion or bowel issues, lots of bowel sounds in my tummy going on. I've been dizzy and nauseaus a lot but not throwing up. The dizzies seem to pass...anyways...I just don't feel myself and hate going to the doctor for them to tell me I'm normal and I'm just freaking myself out. I haven't been to the doctor in a very long time, but I just feel that I could be over reacting. Anyone have this sort of thing happen to them? My chest feels tight too, but I've been under a lot of stress lately, the skin issue has been around for a while and seems to have worsened.

I've never heard of anything like this before. Whenever I have medical questions I use the symptom checker at webmd.com. This website is always helpful for any medical questions you could ever have.
Reply:First i wnat you to knoe that im not a doctor but I do have the same symptoms...I went to a chiropractor had lots of x-rays and i just happened to be that my lower back was out of line a few months of going to him and i was good as new..now I haved listened to my body and I can tell when I need an adjustment. Stress tightens up all your muscles and causes them to press on the spine when you get those to relax and get your bak aligned you will feel lots better and the bowel and stomach problems will go away too.
Reply:For the love of God, go to the f***king doctor!

I tried that aloe stuff for sunburn , it didn't work. what do i do!?!?!?

Reply:try lipgloss and keep putting it on all day dont smile more then you need to till to night and drink tons of water
Reply:u could use something called vic's for nose and vaseline for lip problem or lip gloss galor.
Reply:try something cool - like a cool compress or even an ice cube though a little messy and then apply a little vaseline to the spot. this will soften it a little. It culd be several things happening. You could be getting a blemish or just the air drying you out but that should help a little
Reply:Doesn't this stuff always happen at times like Homecoming?
Vaseline makes creams that help with this without being oily. I would continuously throughout the day continuously apply cream to the area and put a small bottle of cream in your purse tonight--it would be best if you could find one without a scent and hypoallergenic.
Have fun!
Reply:get some milk from fridge put it on some gauze or flannel apply to the skin for 5 minutes milk has a anti inflammatory properties that will take the itch away or petroleum jelly

What are some good skin/beauty (NOT MAKEUP) products to give a girl turning 18 for her birthday?
I'm only 12 and my sister's birthday is coming up. I want to get her a skin/beauty product but I don't know what. I'm also on a tight budget- $20 or less. Please don't say the Neutrogena Wave, she doesn't want that.
What are some good skin/beauty (NOT MAKEUP) products to give a girl turning 18 for her birthday?
Go for something like body lotion , i mean go somewhere like walmart or target they sometimes have GREAT body stuff , i mean even some hand lotion or nail pollish would be good.
If you have enough get her 1 nail pollish 1 lip gloss n 1 mascaraand then a little makeup bag xxx
Reply:i really like the "burt's bees" products, especially their "honey lip balm" (it's like chapstick, so NOT make-up). they've got good lotions and cool bath sets. you could get her something like that!
Reply:nice smelling facial scubs, or masks.
Reply:You know what? I think you should get her like a gift basket full of body and shower products. They always have that no matter what time of the year, and it's already wrapped for you and makes a great gift. Plus, I find some that are just $15!!
Inside, there's usually a whole bunch of stuff including.. body wash, lotions, shampoos and conditioners sometimes, soap bars, and lots of other cool stuff. Each basket has a "theme" and it will look great when you give it to her!
Reply:i love the mary kay facial line. the timewise lotions and washes are great and make my skin feel so smooth. i wish i would have dsicovered them sooner!
Reply:Anything that contains sunscreen. At 18, she still has a chance to have beautiful, unlined skin in 20 or 30 yrs. Now's the time to start if she hasn't already.
Reply:Give her some good moisturizer, everyone should use it. Just stay away from ones with fragrance and oil. I like the one from CLINIQUE, it is called "Dramatically Different" I wouldn't be without it ! You are a nice sister to be doing this research for her gift. :-)

Will I have loose skin after I reach my goal weight and my body fat is at a normal level?
I am 21 years old. I weigh 145 and I am 5'1. I just recently lost 45 pounds. My lower stomach and around my belly button looks like I am going to have extra skin once I reach my goal weight (120-125). My belly button doesn't look tight and when I sit down I can see little wrinkles. Is there ANY way I could lose the extra pounds and not have any loose skin? I would like answers from people with experience! Thank You!.
Will I have loose skin after I reach my goal weight and my body fat is at a normal level?
You are young, so you will be just fine. Just make sure that you are exercising as you lose your weight. Sometimes if you lose weight very quickly you will notice that the skin won't be as tight as it once was. Since you are young everything should go back into place. Keep up your good work, keep exercising to tone yourself up, and stick to a sensible diet. Slowing down the weight loss will give your skin more of a chance to go back to its normal tone. When I was your age I was able to lose 60 pounds. I did it slowly by making smarter food choices and I exercised all the time. Everything went back into its place. It took time and work. You should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations on your weight loss success!
Reply:I seriously doubt it. You weren't that heavy and you are young. Your skin will snap back. Loose skin happens on old people (30s-40s+) with emormous amounts of weight. Like 200 lbs.
Reply:Unless you lose hundreds of pounds, it will stetch back to it's original shape with exercise in a while.
Reply:use creams on your skin every night like cocoa butter, this will help smooth your skin. start working out more and work on toning rather than weight loss, you should cycle between toning and losing. Rapid weight loss isnt good for you anyhow.
Reply:Considering that you are 21, it will probably tighten back up. It takes longer for your skin to shrink than it does for you to lose fat. It will be fine.
Reply:I've heard that only happens when there is an extreme instance of weight gain to weight loss. With your age and the numbers you've given, I don't see that happening to you. Read about it here:

Reply:you will have loose skin but at your age not much.. check out Plastic surgery before and after or DR 90210 on TV.. many people have to get cut after loosing 20 or more lbs.
Reply:Well....a way to prevent it is that....when u exercise some people do get the extra skin but if you drink skim milk daily it tightens the skin and makes it so u dont have the extra skin hang ....and not 2% or 1% but SKIM MILK....lol..good luck...cuz after all the hard work of losing weight its just dissapointing to know thhat u have that left..so good luck
Reply:if youre only 21, and just loosing 20-25 lbs., the skin should become firm again. at your age, the skin still has a lot of elasticity. what may cause skin to sag is if you lost the weight extremely fast, or if you were grossly overweight (which you werent). the best way to avoid the sag is to lose the weight slowly(1-1 1/2 lb. per week is best), and to keep your muscles toned, to keep your stomach small by reducing the amount consumed at each meal (you might have to eat smaller but more frequent meals), and to keep your skin firm, it needs to be well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. exposure to UV rays and smoking both cause skin to lose elasticity.
1) lose the weight slowly
2)eat small meals (5-6 small as opposed to 3 large)
3)do muscle firming and toning exercises
4)dont smoke, and dont lay in the sun
5)drink plenty of water
Reply:145 is actually healthy for 5' 1". Especially for a woman,
which I ain't. However, I have lots of female friends and relatives, (doesn't everybody?) and many of them have faced similar issues, and talk about them, and I listen.
Also I have some medical background, and the physical training I got in basic training included issues like this.
The skin is loose only for a little while, and then if you have done a crash diet and lost a lot of weight at once. I can see where 190 would be unhealthy for somebody your height. Even my height of 6' 1" would be pushing it. 145 is an excellent weight.
And your health is going to affect your appearance more than the other way around.
What you need to do now, is take the current weight as a plateau, and take the time to level off and slow down a bit.
The other thing is that your abdominal muscles aren't tight, which affects the skin. The little pouch effect is really not fat, just loose muscle. Sit ups are a way of tightening them.
Also walking, doesn't have to be extremely fast but walking a lot actually uses the big muscles in the buttocks and thighs and calves as kind of an auxiliary to your heart, they actually pump blood as well.
Which takes an extra bit of strain off the heart.
Congratulations on losing a full third of your body mass.
Now the secret is to take it slooowwwww...
Take the extra time to contemplate how good you feel and look, (of course, it will take away from the time you had budgeted for worrying, but hey, we all gotta make some sacrifice) and figure (bad pun) out where you want to go with the rest of it.
Keep up the good work.
