Should the skin around your belly button piercing get tight?

Ive had mine done now for about 2 weeks. and the skin on the top by where the bar comes out is getting tight and it like sticks to the barbell. Is that a problem or is it just a sign of healing? Will that eventually stop if so??

It sounds like you are experiencing swelling, which is pretty normal. Unfortunately, navel piercings can take a long time to heal, usually 6 months, but it can take up to a year. Swelling should not last this long, but until fully healed, the piercing can have 'flare-ups', caused by everyday irritations (rubbing by clothing, accidently pulling, etc).

Just follow piercer's orders and keep it clean!
Reply:um... i dont think so. didnt happen to me. might be infected. idk? mine isnt
Reply:it all kinda depends...if its itchy at all or has puss than it might be infected, but an easy way to tell is gross but sure...smell your barbell if it stinks like feet its infected, if not its normal....

the skin no matter what is going to be a little bit tighter than before because you put a barbell through it so it has to stretch so as far as the being tight part its going to have a little tightness for a while it will mellow out over time
