Does alternating hot and cold water help skin?

I just finished watching mommie dearest, and there is that scene in the beginning where she scalds her face with hot water then submerges it in ice. I also read that Marylyn Monroe took ice baths to keep her skin tight. So what is the deal? is it good for your skin?

Does alternating hot and cold water help skin?
cleaning it with warm water helps open pores to get a deeper clea and cold water helps tighten them back so you wont have large open pores on your face, but i cant really tell the difference. it supposedly makes it look healthier
Reply:It is good for your skin
Reply:The cold and ice are to close up large pores. The best way to use hot and cold is washing Ur face here the skinny. Steam u face with a hot wash rag (as hot as u can tolerate) do this all over Ur face. Then with a mild face scrub wash Ur face(gentle). Once done run warm water to rinse whole face. Now as with the hot, put as cold as u can stand over a clean wash cloth (fill the sink with this water) and apply to Ur face. In a couple of weeks u can put ice cubes in the sink with water. Hot=opens pores Cold=closes pores.
Reply:no by the way I liked that movie it was funny
Reply:well from what I know, alternating hot cold water helps in preventing poimples or tightening your pores.....

You see, when you wash your face with hot or warm water, your pores will relax and will losen up.. that is when you have to clean t with soap or cleansers then wash it again with warm water to like sterilize or something.. then wash it with really cold water to close the pores and tighten it so that dirt and other foreign bacterias cannot enter your pores...... hope this answer is what ur lookin for.. gl....
Reply:NO! it would cause cancer! now if you did it with WArm water and then cold water it would be fine...it would be great. warm opens up your pores that would help get dirt out of it when u wash ur face with soap then cold would seal up these poars and leave that squeeky clean fresh feeling to it.
Reply:it is really good for skin, it helps in blood circulation and it makes skin clean and healthy.
Reply:No, because going from scalding water to cold water is a shock to your system as a whole. Would you want to chance it?
